
During the early 1920-30ies he was one of the rhythm guitarists of the "Quintette du Hotclub de France" beside Joseph Reinhardt, Roger Chaput and Marcel Bianci.
There is not much information known about Eugène Vées life.
Eugène Vées was a rhythm guitarist of the Quintette du Hotclub de France since 1938 with which he also appeared on concerts in London, in Stockholm and in Brussels.
He accompanied Django Reinhardt also in other groups like "Djangos Music" till 1943 and now and then again in 1946 and 1947; besides, he was also involved in numerous recordings of Reinhardt.
Besides that he also recorded together with Larry Adler, André Ekyan und Hubert Rostaing. From 1953 he also acted as a solo guitarist.
Eugène Vées recorded the songs „Songe d'automne“ and „Pour que ma vie demeure“ with his own Quartette to whom supposedly belonged Léo Slab on violin, Emmanuel Soudieux on bass and presumably Lousson Reinhardt on the rhythm guitar.
In 1941 accompanied Charles Trénet in the movie "La Romance de Paris" of the director Jean Boyer. Together with Joseph Reinhardt he was a teacher for Babik Reinhardt, who also made concerts with him. (Quelle: Wikipedia)
