Bucolo 1950 Mod. F-Hole

Bucolo 1950 Mod. F-Hole
A Bucolo F-hole hollow body guitar from 1950, sold under the "Sonora" Label. This guitar was made by the Bucolo family who had a workshop in Paris and in Catania, Sicily. These guitars mostly have a 13-frets-to-the-body neck. Many gypsystyle guitar of the Bucolo family were often sold rebranded with the "Sonora" brand. This guitar has a parallel braced top. I think it's pressed instead of carved, but it really has the typical gypsy sound. I don't think the tailpiece is original and there are some traces in the top that the guitar was once equipped with a pickup and pickguard. There is a contact microphone installed inside which works very well. The flat D-shape profile makes it very easy to play. Nice low action. This really is a very special instrument that is really rare.
